Who in the midst of a high intensity environment inherent to any large city doesn’t dream of  nature, peace and tranquility ?  Highway 15 and 10 on any Friday of the week are a testimony to the need of Montrealers to escape work deadlines, traffic jams, construction sites and the relentless pace of city life in general. The weekend is a time to reach for the much needed mysterious healing power of any forest, mountain or lake.

Many Montrealers enjoy a second home and or wish that some day they will.  And maybe, just maybe, at some point they could leave the high energy of a large city entirely behind for good !

This said, Montreal is a great city and has much to offer and then some for those in the know: great neighborhoods, fine dining, renowned Universities, a vibrant cultural scene and a no less vibrant nightlife.

As a Century 21 broker, a Canadian and international Real Estate Corporation, let me assure you that Montreal is a highly valued destination for those who wish to invest in a superior quality life.  This often translates into an opportunity for those who are ready for the country living.

My focus is to help investors, new comers, people ready for greener pastures  acquire their property and find the resources they need to relocate.  As a Montrealer who witnessed the opening of Expo 67, I am confident that an intimate knowledge of Montreal along with my network of long time reliable partners in the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships can help making this transition as smooth as possible.

This is what this site and the Real Love Triangle blog all about: helping you find the dream home and resources when the time has come !

Montreal - Laurentians - Eastern Townships

Montreal:

Large enough to never feel bored, small enough to never feel lost, Montreal has a European vibe and a North American flair and boasts the lowest cost of living of any large city in Canada. Culturally rich, Montreal offers a bilingual environment where French is the official language and English widely spoken.  People from Europe, Africa, Asia, and all Americas have elected Montreal as their home of choice and contribute largely to the excitement that this city has to offer.

Montreal, with its “joie de vivre” and innumerable concerts and festivals, attracts internationally renowned talents and festival goers alike: Jazz musicians, Comedy Club talents, French performers, artists of all sorts and restaurant chefs to name a few. Speaking of restaurants, foodies will assuredly find what they are looking for and all agree Montreal is a paradise when it comes to the variety and the quality of dining options, including street food and take-outs.

Montreal’s nightlife also is resilient and vibrant considering an environment where the internet has become a serious competitor. Montreal once was a haven for fun seekers during the Prohibition with its red-light district, jazz clubs, speakeasies, taverns and pubs. People used to come from all around the world and most likely have contributed to forge a still standing exceptional and safe nightlife in and around Montreal.

Of course we have countless museums, theaters and concert halls. And if  physical activity is a must in your life, here again you won’t be disappointed.  Numerous parks like Mont-Royal and Lafontaine provide you with many opportunities. A growing number of outdoor gyms, endless bicycle paths, kayaking on the Lachine Canal and more,  all contribute to the generation of large quantities of endorphin in this city.

In conclusion, Montreal has it all and if you are torn between eating out, buying tickets to a show and physical activity.  A good compromise could be to attend a legendary hockey game with the Montreal Canadiens.  Yes Montreal has it all, a city where the choice between losing and gaining weight is all yours !  😉

The Laurentians:

The Laurentians, just north of Montreal, is a paradise of natural beauty spread across magnificent landscapes, boasting a cornucopia of outdoor activities and adventure.
It offers numerous hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and horseback riding.

The Saint-Sauveur Valley and the Tremblant area are known for their outdoor sports, shopping, culture, art, and entertainment. The region is easily accessible and encompasses charming, lively villages, country inns, lakeside cottages, tiny lively houses, campsites, treehouses, outfitters, and holiday resort hotels. The Laurentians is also a great place to settle due to its proximity to Montreal, its pleasant climate, and its abundance of activities.

The Eastern Townships:

The Eastern Townships is a collection of small cities, towns, and villages nestled in nature in southeastern Quebec.  It’s a hub for outdoor adventure with four provincial parks, hills for skiing and snowboarding, lakes and rivers for boating, fishing, water-skiing, and swimming. The region has a massive cycling community and a number of spas for relaxation. The Eastern Townships are also known for their lush mountains, vineyards, and cool-water lakes. The region has a rich history with strong English roots, which is apparent in the names of several towns and in its architecture.

In summary, the natural beauty, outdoor activities, rich history, and proximity to Montreal make both the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships popular destinations for Montrealers.
